I'm pretty sure this is specific to Gentoo. A simple ./configure on todays
CVS results in many libraries complaining like so:
configure: running /bin/sh './configure' --prefix=/usr/local
'--without-libmad' 'CC=gcc' 'CXX=g++' --cache-file=/dev/null --srcdir=.
configure: warning: CC=gcc: invalid host type
configure: warning: CXX=g++: invalid host type
configure: error: can only configure for one host and one target at a time
configure: error: /bin/sh './configure' failed for lib-src/libogg
gcc and g++ are invalid host types? But I use them all the time. I unset
CC and everything was better, but this is strange, no?
Also, in an effort to improve my contributions to the Gentoo project, I've
noticed that audacity is still at 1.1.3. I'd like to make a 1.2 ebuild in
anticipation for the real release.
