It's not Spyce. The pool variables last as long as the Spyce engine.
It's not mod_python. From the documentation: "Once created, a
subinterpreter will be reused for subsequent requests. It is never
destroyed and exists until the Apache child process dies."
It's Apache. Apache regularly recycles it's children processes. See:
and look at the following configuration options:
MinSpareServers, MaxSpareServers, StartServers, MaxRequestsPerChild
