I have looked at the MacGPG project, and keep tabs on them. Many of the
GPG frontend tools they make/are associated with are really cool, and I
use them. However, I've been using Fink since nearly the Public Beta days,
and am very comfortable with it. I've been using it for GPG since
approximately that same time. Given that I *have* that installation, I'm
interested in making sure that such an installation will interoperate with
Fire for using GPG encryption in chat, and making it a viable alternative
for users. Mainly with intention of allowing folks who've been using Fink
for GPG to not change what method they use for maintaining their

I believe the docs do point to MacGPG as the method for installing GPG for
use with Fire; however, the docs also explicitly state that Fire doesn't
work with a Fink installation of GPG. I'd like to change that latter
state. I'm *not* pushing to have folks who've never touched GPG or Fink
before into using Fink to have GPG for Fire; I believe MacGPG is
definitely a better solution for people in such circumstances.
