But no, I don't think it's built-in to any of the Windows line. There are
freeware and commercial programs that do SMART monitoring for Windows,
and they list 95,98,NT,2000 and XP as supported.
seems to be smartctl-like in philosophy. And command-line-based. But far
less featureful, of course :)

The UNIX philosophy basically involves giving you enough rope to
