Just so you know we're on our toes (and becasue I'm too friggin stupid to
remember to import the cvs log mailer and point it at the list.. i'll get
to it, really I will :) here are all the changes since rc2.
I think the intesnion is to get an rc3 out by next week, but if you're
having a problem with rc2 updating to CVS might help it. I'd like rc3 to
be the last of the rc's, so if you can checkout CVS, please do so! We're
down to the nitty gritty stuff here.
As always, please send in patches and file bugs as you encounter them.
Special thanks to Joe Stewart and Todd Mokros for helping out of late.

o Cleanups in config.php3
o A little niceness in db_xfer.php3.disabled
(Still does same stuff, but with a nicer interface. I need to work on
the actual logic, but though this might be nice too)
o Patched in patch #102110
2000-Oct-24 5:10PM EDT nathan hruby <nhruby@...>
o Fixed -> [ Bug #117562 ] Infolog: Mass Delete is broken
(Of course, it's my own bug, but hey!)
o Added a little block debug()ing
o Changed all debug_array() calls to simple debug
o Added logwrite() calls to Story Submssion functions.
2000-Oct-24 15:45PM CDT Joe Stewart <joe@...>
o Completed fix of [ Bug #117559 ] Previewing story in storyAdmin
doesn't work. Also fixed extended translation on new stories.

o Completed fix of [ Bug #115132 ] Block Preview doesn't work.
2000-Oct-23 5:08PM EDT nathan hruby <nhruby@...>
o Finally fixed the frigin' RDF importer!
Thanks to tmokros@... for the fix (and to Joe Stewart
for pointing it out in teh patch manager :)

o Fixed broken SQL statements in tables/rc2torc3.sql
2000-Oct-20 1:55AM PDT Ajay Sharma <ssharma@...>
o change the "suggested" version of PHPLIB from 7.3c to 7.2c
because 7.3c DOESN'T EXIST! whoops.
o some work has been done on the db_xfer.php3 script. It's not
complete yet though.
2000-Oct-18 11:00AM CDT Joe Stewart <joe@...>
o added "printer friendly" article view.
2000-Oct-17 9:16PM PDT Ajay Sharma <ssharma@...>
o updated the DB files.
2000-Oct-17 9:05PM PDT Ajay Sharma <ssharma@...>
o Hehe.. I slept on the problem and brought the topic
image stuff back without too much work. You just need
to specify the default topic with an ID instead of a name.
The search is much better.
2000-Oct-16 11:30PM PDT Ajay Sharma <ssharma@...>
o I think I got a handle on the search page. There was A LOT
of extra logic in there just to have the "default topic" show
up so I removed it. Also, I've updated some templates so that
the search would work on ID fields and not names. When you search
for stuff, if you know the ID then use that, otherwise use the name:
search.php3?topic=blah NO!! Doesn't work!!
Don't use the "topic", "author", or "section" variable names anymore.
You need to be more specific.
o got rid of some debugging code in the poll.
o updated the NavBar.class to use ID's in the search instead of Names
2000-Oct-11 11:44PM PDT Ajay Sharma <ssharma@...>
o the mailing list is sorta functional. Subscribe/Unsubscribe
works. There's a bunch of more templates for generating the
emails that get sent to people. It's not perfect, but that's
what the CVS is for. :)
o the mailing list stuff is now linked to the NavBar.
o removed a bunch of the crusty mailing list functions from
o the Search page is also under some construction and isn't quite
finished yet. In the TODO we talk about how it needs to be
re-worked to search by id keys whenever possible instead of
using names. It makes for a quicker search.
2000-Oct-08 8:15PM PDT Ajay Sharma <ssharma@...>
o A lot of work was done on the Mailing List stuff. You can
now subscribe and unsubscribe without any obvious problems. And
the confirmation emails get sent out without a hitch. What I like
is that the email is still built inside the templates so you can
customize it fairly easily. I'm not going to link it from the admin
menu just yet. If you want to check it out point your browsers at
o updated the all-important about.tpl file.
o removed the mailinglist() function from function.inc. It's now
been migrated to the MailingList.class file.
2000-Oct-08 10:28 EDT nathan hruby <nhruby@...>
o Added Infolog.class -> Handles infolog templates and such
infolog.tpl -> The template for the info log
infologAdmin.php3 -> The admin page for logging
rc2torc3.sql -> SQL file that will update a rc2 db to rc3
o Fixed a minor boo boo in functions::debug()
o Obviously I cleaned up the loging functions :)
o Took out old logging stuff in admin.php3 and repointed the NavBar
2000-Oct-08 11:06AM EDT nathan hruby <nhruby@...>
o Fixed info_logger to be 0.6 db compliant
o added new info logger stuff to the slash-all.sql
o added a debug() function which will either echo out info or log it
- logwrite() needs to understand an array
- All the loging stuff should be templated in admin.php3
- logging stuff could use some addtional features
(Delete By Type, delete selected, sort by type, sort by time)
- Need to go through and make all debug options use debug()
2000-Oct-08 2:19AM PDT Ajay Sharma <ssharma@...>
o removed all the $debug = true/false lines. Use the global
$debug variable from now on. Either it's on for everything, or
off. We need to clean up the output for a production site!
o removed LARGELOGO from slashhead. Still trying to remove the
presentation from the logic. Stuff that _never_ changes shouldn't
be in a database.
o fixed Bug #116180. When editing a comment, the parent_id wasn't getting
sent across, thus when you saved the comment it would show up under the
root of the story.
o removed the gotperm function. It's pretty much useless.
o changed the functions to pay attention to the Security Level stuff.
Here's the new breakdown:
seclev - access to...
1 topics, comments
1000 sections, blocks, polls
10000 authors, variables, glossary,
logging, mailing list stuff.
This breakdown still doesn't make any sense to me, but I don't care to
re-write it until 0.7 with the auth/perm stuff!
o removed a billion 'global $seclev' lines from Comment.class
o The HTML that displayed the drop-down box for changing the Comment
display types (flat, nested, etc..) has been moved to the comment.tpl
file and the code has been moved to Comment.class. It shouldn't have
been inside the article.php3 file. Now the form to change the comment
display style shows up in the pollBooth but it doesn't work right.
2000-Oct-07 7:43PM PDT Ajay Sharma <ssharma@...>
o added 'remove all the new slashDB lines' to the TODO.
o Bug #116348: 'Show Pending' now works for polls.
o Bug #116343: the admin pages now display a temporary page for
the Mailing List stuff.
o Bug #116342: I used the clean function when adding stuff to the Poll.
So you don't get a DB error anymore with adding apostrophies (').
