i have successfully created a bond of 4 network cards on a IBM blade HS40
running SLES 9.
The Blade chassis contains 2 cisco network switches. These switches are
connected to the same backbone.
The /proc/net/bonding/bond0 shows me Bonding Mode: load balancing
(round-robin) & MII Polling Interval (ms): 0.
If i add the line "BONDING_MODULE_OPTS='miimon=100 mode=6 use_carrier=1'"
to the ifcfg-bond0 file and restart networking nothing changes.
The /proc/net/bonding/bond0 file does not show me that there has changed
Ifconfig shows me the same mac address for all slave's, so this again
confirms that the mode is not 6.
How can i change the mode to "balance-alb" ?
The reason that i want to change this setting is that the server becomes
unreachable for 5 till 15 seconds now and then. Has someone seen this
before? How can this be explained?
