Another idea, offer a bounty to fix the bug... If this was a bug that
drove me crazy and no one offered to fix it, I'd offer up some cash to
someone who could fix it. That way you get what you want (bug fixed) the
developer gets some compensation (money) and the community benefits as
well (better code.) If a bug bothers enough people, they too might be
willing to kick some money into the bounty.
