First, thank you very much for the Linux davfs2, it's a great tool.
I use net-www/davfs2-0.2.1 on Gentoo Linux. I would like to report that
when the HTTP PUT results in a 403 Forbidden, davfs2 ignores that error
status and goes on as if everything went fine. Usually, if an error
occurs, I expect the write operation to fail. This problem was a source
of silent data loss. All of my work disappeared without notice. See
attached file for an excerpt of HTTP access on the server.
After adjusting the file mode on the server, everything went fine again,
but in between, all changes were lost. Have you seen this problem
already? Why does davfs2 ignore the HTTP error status?
