There are indeed two levels of logging in - VuFind itself has a login for accessing its own internal account information, while some actions (place hold, renew, etc.) may also require the user to enter credentials for the ILS. After a user logs into the ILS for the first time, VuFind stores their ILS credentials in its own database, so the second login action is rarely seen.

Subject: [VuFind-General] Two types of login confusion
I'm confused a little by some code I hit..
There is the login called by MyResearch (Login.php and login.tpl etc) - there there is also code that uses catalog-login.tpl
I only came across it by accident because the prompts are different on my set up. Do they do the same thing? Its not clear to me why 2 exist.
