Hm. When I asked about the progress of the port, I didn't mean to
start this kind of discussion. I was just curious, because I hadn't
heard a word and wondered what the state of the project may be. There
are many diffent expectations connected to the port and IMO the
heated debate now shows just how desperately people are wanting this
Cocoa path for the future. Add me to that group.
That said, the recent posts show, and this was my concern in the
first place, that there is some lack of information somewhere. We
want to know what is going on. Knowing what is happening is the only
way to really contribute, test, etc. If Jason feels that he is more
comfortable with working alone until a certain point before he
publishes his work, I can't blame him. He should do what he feels is
right. This is all voluntarily, after all. But as already said, this
prevents people from reviewing the work and providing their
experience with the Mac code for Tk.
But please, let us be positive about this development! So, let us
know what is going on. And when the answer is: "Give me 3 more months
before I publish anything" ... that's OK with me. Make a website of
you liking, use whatever system you feel is nice to use, but give us
some clue as to what you're doing. A blog, a page on the Wiki, a
thread here on this group or on comp.lang.tcl ... I don't care as
long as I am able to see what is going on and then offer my help
based on this information.
