Well I see 2 areas where you can contribute straight away:
- the table window
- the metadata window
The table window design is set but most of the buttons do not work (move
next, last,.., also you cannot modify the data in the columns, or delete or
add columns. The browser window could be extended later to present a form
view of the data (access style) with a designer (designer data saved in a
special table). I think there is some code to take/share with other people
developping an interface to PG. Most of the code for this application is in
I suggest also from now on that in the callback.c file are stored only call
to procedure located in fmapstablewindow.c. It is a pain that glade generate
a single file for all calls from the user interface. BTW if you modify the
interface design you MUST use glade, to keep things simple.
The metadata window preliminary design is done, but many parts are missing.
It needs an understanding of ISO conformance level 1 standard. I can send
you this document if you whish to develop this part. The metadata window is
also important when importing data as nobody should be able to import data
if the metadata is not properly entered. Also it needs some import/export
capabilities in XML of the metadata alone.
Your call. I will add your name in the developper list tonight...

My sourceforge login is fquarta.
I have downloaded the last version of FMaps and I have compiled it.
Since I have a background in Visual C++ and not in Linux
programming, I should prefer to develop a non-critical
( from the time perspective ) part of the software in the early stages.
Have a nice day..
