yep, freeglut-1.3-alpha-2000-01-16.orig.tar.gz seems to be the last tar ball
The MSVC project files need fixing too.
looking at freeglut_main.c, it looks like the XK_?? for F1-F12 and
left,right,up,down are there. it's just missing HOME, END, INSERT, ...
looks like an easy fix. for win32, all the special keys seem to be handled.
let's toss this into sourceforge CVS and start patching!

There has been some discussion over shipping GLUT with Mesa
because Mesa is now bundled into XFree and XFree us released
*ONLY* under the Xfree license.
Since GLUT's "license" is incompatible with XFree's, they
have been looking at using 'freeglut' instead.
This is a BIG deal for freeglut since it means that we
are catapulted from being an interesting curiosity into
being "THE" GLUT version that'll ship with every Xfree
system on the planet!
