I've played around with it quite a bit, trying out various things I've
found on the web (none of which were very promising), and I've also
noticed that OSX seems to actually *have* a CDC Ethernet driver
included with it:
[craig@...:~]$ locate CDCEt
But I can't figure out where the USB device registration tables are in
OSX, which would tell the OS to use that CDC driver for a particular
USB device that might be plugged into the mac... I figure somewhere
there's got to be a file which says "When you see USB device number xyz
then load driver abc", akin to the linux hotplug stuff. I've tried
using kextload to just load the driver into memory, in case it'd then
register itself appropriately or something, but it appears not to.
Haven't gone so far as to actually contact Apple yet, but I think
Gordon's buddies with the CTO over there, so maybe I'll try that
