Summary: Geomagic Quick-Look Needed
Initial Comment:
Check with the Geometric developers on their file
type, and whether it can be converted to BRL-CAD
binary (.g) format. Need a quick-turnaround on this
one, so please provide feedback to
tmallor@.... Thanks!

You can use the iges-g to convert iges files into .g files. There are
some limits
on the type of geometry that can be imported through IGES. You may want
to
read the IGES file into Pro/E and then export from Pro/E to BRLCAD.

Another possibility is to pass a plane through the solid
and obtain its cross-sectional area as part of Geomagic.

Geomagic Output to CAD/CAM/CAE software:
Exports models with accurate, watertight NURBS surfaces to
any CAD/CAM/CAE system for surfacing, shelling and solids
work. Formats include IGES 128 (surfaces) and 126 (curves);
STEP 203 and 214; Parasolid .x_t and .x_b; Neutral, VDA,
Pro/E PRT, SAT.
Does this appear to be compatible with our BRL-CAD
conversion utilities?
