Summary: drawing elipse causing error
Initial Comment:
if you change the properties when you draw an elipse
(e.g. start and end point or a bizarr form of the
elipse) then after closing inkscape this change of
property is still active when you want to draw an
elipse in a total different document!

This is by design. Inkscape remembers all its settings across sessions.
Just click "make whole" if you don't need this.
