Hi
I'm using the check "Require This" but I would like to
have the option checkFields only for "this variables".
Because now also static fields are checked. I would
like to have the option check static fields with the
execption that if the static field is defined in a
class and used in the same class that the qualifier is
not required.
Hopefully this is possible.

Re the two years: Everyone in the dev team has a busy day
job, and at least two of us have a baby child.
If you really need #1070794, I suggest you take a look at
the code and change it the way you need it. It's all in one
class (RequireThisCheck), and it really isn't rocket science.

Yes, I believe this is a duplicate of #1070794. But it seems
nobody is working since 2 years on it. It's a pitty because
I want this check and I need it but I unnecessary error
messages. So, hopefully anybody can change it as soon as
poosible. Thanks.

I agree, except I would not call this a "Request For
Enhancement". I would call it a bug in the current version
of checkstyle.
