Peter writes: "Avanti MicroLCS [http://www.avantilibrarysystems.com] version 1.0 beta 3 has been released. This is the first public release of MicroLCS in over a year. Much of the development work during that time has been devoted to refining and improving basic features. New features in Beta 3 include a powerful and flexible boolean search capability, a redesigned user interface that is clean simple and easy to learn and use, a context sensitive help system, and standalone Java clients. Beta 3 is coming close in terms of features to the basic OPAC and cataloging system that the production 1.0 release is expected to be."
