Summary: Audacity writes incompatible id3v2 tags
OS/Version: Windows XP
Winamp, Windows Media Player, and Audacity itself are unable to read id3v2 tags
in MP3 files exported by Audacity 1.2.0-pre4 on Windows. (All of the tags
appear empty in those programs.) iTunes for Windows displays the id3v2 tags
A user reports that 1.2.0-pre3 on Windows has the same problem, but 1.2.0-pre2
works correctly. I haven't yet tested this on other platforms.
A similar bug happened in 1.2.0-pre1, when Audacity started writing id3v2.4 tags
(not yet supported by most players). This was fixed in Audacity 1.2.0-pre2 by a
patch to make our libid3tag use the older v2.3 format.
