--- NEW FILE: HOW-TO-RUN-THE-TESTS ---
You need two things in addition to vanilla Ant to run the testcases:
JUnit and ant-testutil.jar.
JUnit can be found at http://www.junit.org and should be on any
developer's disk anyway.
ant-testutil.jar must be created from Ant's sources. Unfortunately it
doesn't get distributed separately yes. You need Ant sources, either
from CVS or from a source distribution. Then run the "test-jar"
target with Ant's own build file.
After you have those two, you have two choices, you can:
(1) Put them into your CLASSPATH - note that Ant's optional.jar has to
be in the claspath as well, then.
(2) Override the properties ant.testutil and junit.jar to point to
your jars. Please note, that optional.jar must not be on the
CLASSPATH if junit.jar is not. See Ant's FAQ for details.
You can also combine the two, Stefan has junit.jar and optional.jar
both on the CLASSPATH and overrides ant.testutil, for example.
You can override the properties on the command line or in the file
Finally, all you have to do, is to run the "test" target.
