I really doubt our proxy would be NTLM, but I don't know for sure.
There is no issue with write permission. I have admin rights on this laptop, and I installed SQuirreL myself before. I manually installed 3.1 into the same "Program Files" directory when this self-update from 3.0.3 failed to behave.
