Sorry if this is a bonehead question, I downloaded Webware quite a while
back and watching the list for quite a while, but haven't had a chance to
dig into it much yet. So here it is, the posting about membership management
got me wondering if there are hooks into OpenLDAP yet, if not, I think that
could be very worthwhile for a membership project. The added bonus, once the
hooks are built, you've just added tons of functionality beyond what I
imagine most projects in the burgeoning stages would need. I'm not sure what
kind of timeline the project is looking at, but if it were pretty far out,
I'd be very into helping out with LDAP integration (pretty slammed right
now, so if the project is needed in the next few months, I'm afraid I won't
be much help).
I should put this under a new header, but I'll mention it here now (maybe we
can open a new header if people would like to discuss). I'm a long time
PHP/MySQL developer. In the middle of a PHP/PostgreSQL project right now.
Always resisted PostgreSQL in the past due to performance issues, but now
you can consider me a convert :). I think Middlekit needs Postgres support.
I think PHP could fall behind due to their marriage with MySQL. Personally,
I'd like to see Webware do with Postgres what PHP did with MySQL, adapters
to most all databases, but strongest support for the one. I'd like to hear
other people's thought on this.
done for now,
