I have created a new Media Verify Tool for gramps34. It is in
gramps-addons, but I haven't created a download file or included it in
the listing yet.
It enables you to generate an md5 hash for each media object which is
stored as an attribute.
The tool allows you to verify your media directory (so you must have one
set in the preferences).
The verify option will:
1. Fix the path of the media object if the file it points to has been
moved or renamed. This allows you to use any file manager as a media
2. List any files that are missing.
3. List any duplicate files.
4. List any files that are in the media directory, but are not yet in
Thanks to the user on the gramps-users list who suggested this.
Let me know what you think.
