Hi All,
While I'm still going on with blue theme changes, I thought I'd send a
.blue project with one of the instruments I was working on. It's a
work in progress, but the the fundamental design is based on a use of
a recursive mode UDO. The parameters affect multipliers for the signal
as it recurses, together with Q bandwidths and frequency multipliers.
This version is still a little rough but makes some nice sounds
already that are nice for struck sounds (using an mpulse now for the
excitation signal). Could be nice for things like harp-like sounds
and struck percussion. I placed a copy of the instrument from my
working project into it's own here. There's no score in this project
as I'm using only blueLive with MIDI input at the moment for testing.
One note: if you're using the 2.10.0 beta, you'll be fine, otherwise
you'll have to add "0dbfs=1" to Global Orchestra, as this instrument
is designed for 0dbfs=1.0. I've mostly transitioned my instruments to
using this, and 2.10.0 beta has this feature added as a project
property.
Note: I was inspired to build this instrument after checking out
Reaktor Prism. There's some similarities of design, but there are
differences (though Prism is much more developed for parameter
controls and extra effects like echo and flanger). I'm not sure
currently where I'll take this, especially the factors for influencing
the recursion multipliers. I am however looking at implementing a
bowed excitation.
Hope you all find it useful and enjoy!
steven
p.s. - I'll be sharing on blueShare once the finished version is
complete. If you have questions, feel free to email here. Thanks!
