After sinking too many hours into this, I'm afraid I'm going to have to
blow the whistle on this one. Qt was clearly not tested on 32-bit Macs in
a long time. They made it all the way to "release candidate" with at least
two problems that prevent it from even compiling - meaning we'd probably be
the only ones using it.
Though they've claimed to fix them, applying the fixes in
https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-21984 are still not enough.
Depending on how the calendar falls out, if they make it to an official
4.8.0 with a version that actually works in 32-bits for Mac - even if I
have to compile it myself - I'll probably do so. Otherwise, I'll tweak
the release notes and requirements for Mac to say that we're 64 bits only
and just tweak the release to use 64-bits for the command line build, too.
Yes, this kind of sucks.
