We have a document which provides a general overview of how to develop SQuirreL here: http://www.squirrelsql.org/paper/SQuirreL_us.pdf It concludes with an example plugin that shows you how to write a plugin that can be used to provide the source code of views that are selected in the object tree. Clearly, this is a small part of what SQuirreL can do, but it is meant to serve as an introduction. Please have a look and feel free to get back to us with any questions or suggestions. Rob

Also, if no one mentioned this before we use the sql12 directory for all development - it's name is no longer meaningful considering that the latest versions are 2.x :) The other 'top-level' directories are obsolete and are only there for historic purposes. Because windows 8 won’t let anything install without admin confirmation squirrel won’t install on default directory. It does install on c:\squirrel\ though. This is not my main issue but may contribute. The main issue is in the tree the tables leaf does not show any tables, therefore all the table info is unavailable for viewing. Pushing cntl-t says the tables are not found. Using sql does find the tables and fields with no problem. I do love the application, so let me know if I can make these go away.
