Dear Ontology SIG Members and Followers,

I'd like to invite you to the meeting of the new TEI SIG -- "TEI for
Linguists", during the Zadar conference. The meeting will take place on
Saturday the 12th at 9.00 in room PBS-1.

Some of you have already expressed interest in the linguistic SIG, and I
would like to thank Susan Schreibman for making sure that our two
meetings do not overlap. We have at least two areas of overlap: in terms
of lexical content, where dictionaries may interface lexical ontologies,
and in terms of methodology, where it turns out that we also need
ontologies to handle the content of our grammatical descriptions.
Possibly, we will be able to align our research in these respects, or at
least to set some roadmap for such alignment -- I believe that the
linguistic SIG will be able to benefit from the findings of Ontologies
and that you in turn may have some expectations or at least advice
concerning the interface conditions for models of linguistic resources.
Naturally, I'm also looking forward to participating in your Friday
sessions.
