is this the mailing list to send posting for trouble shooting big sister?

if this is the right place, here is my dilemma:
it seems, i assume, that BS is not updating the test correctly.
i initially configured BS using the example tcp check i found in the
documentation and it worked fine. i configured the tcp check included
for ftp, telnet and ssh to display the results all under the tcp lamp.
afterward i later attempted to configure BS to conduct the tcp check
and display the results separately under their own lamp. the latter is
what i prefer on the web site.
here is what the configuration in uxmon-net looks like:
computer.someplace.somewhere check=conn proto=external pingcmd="ping -c2"
check=ftp service=ftp tcp \
check=telnet service=telnet tcp \
check=ssh service=ssh tcp \
fs=all-ext3(5%-10%),/(10%-15%) diskfree \
check=cpuload cpu_yellow=2 cpu_red=3 cpuload
i'm not sure if this is supposed to happen but the separate test appear on
the web page ALONG
WITH the former tcp test. i want to remove the tcp lamp and keep the others.
i thought the above
configuration would do just that. as for the page, for some reason it takes
a while (about 15 - ~ mins) to
generate the htmlized status reports for each new check. how do i fix that?
how do i permanently
remove a computer from the a group and a its unused checks from reappearing
on the web page? i've tried
the "bsadmin" command stated in the HOW TO but it did not work. i've also
stopped BS, commented the
group assignment in bb-display.cfg, commented all checks of that system in
uxmon-net, deleted the html
files in www/html, and deleted all the logs in www/logs. all, if possible,
were done several times on both the
client, "Agent," and the server, "Status Collector". i want to start fresh
with a few systems but in my attempts
to do so by removing the commented portion for the desired systems the web
site simply redisplays the old
status paradigm that includes the lamp for the tcp check configured prior to
the configuration listed above. this
holds true for any other check i wish to exclude, for example, if i delete
the check for ssh, the status lamp
never leaves the web page however the config for the test is removed from
if anyone has a suggestion and/or a solution please respond.
