You may already be aware of this but I thought I'd mention it...If
you're not too concerned about being tied to a particular database
you can implement history tables using triggers. It's not pythonic,
and it does make porting from one database to another a bit of a
pain, but it works. A reference on this technique can be found at:
For the savy database developer, you can usually develop a single
stored procedure that you point at any table and it will generate an
appropriate History table as well as the insert, update, and delete
triggers on the table of interest.
