You can't install MiKTeX 2.8 on Fedora: MiKTeX is a Windows distribution of TeX.
You can install MiKTeX Tools on Unix (http://www.miktex.org/unx/about) which provides pdfTeX and the Package Manager. For Fedora, you will want to download the .rpm file and then run rpm -i ./miktex-tools-2.8.3541-1-i386-linux.rpm
Personally, I don't see why you'd ever want MiKTeX on Unix - just use TeXLive (which is supported by Fedora's own repositories)
