Erik, our team at the Keystone Library Network had many records in
CONTENTdm, which uses dublin core. We talked to Demian Kratz about it
and he suggested the following:
"the current development trunk (which will become part of release 1.0
in July) adds a "record driver" mechanism that allows you to create
custom classes and templates for records from different sources so
that they can be displayed appropriately within VuFind.
...
Crosswalking to MARC is your best bet if you're unwilling to work with
the development code and can't wait until the 1.0 release."
We (or I) had to choose the latter route. The way we (or I) dealt with
it was to create a script to harvest the meta-data into marc format.
We then imported the marc records, and modified the driver to identify
any records from our CONTENTdm and link them back to their page on
CONTENTdm. It may not be as elegant as we'd like it to be, but given
our constraints, it served our purpose.
