Note: second submit...first got swallowed... I think
I've look at Classic, and our current trunk, but am having trouble seeing what you want concerning:
> My suggestions as shortcuts:
>> From 'Nothing', Switch to Rests
>> From 'Nothing', Switch to Notes
>> From 'Nothing', Turn Dots On
(. (picks also the
>> default duration))
>> From 'Nothing', Turn Dots Off
>> With the durations, Toggle Dots
>> With the durations, Toggle Between Notes and Rests
I know we changed the y / shift + Y.
What do you mean by "From 'Nothing':
and "With the durations"
I know it is difficult to be verbose. But somehow in all of this we misunderstood your goal.
I do say that nobody cared for the shift+y aspect of what we implemented, so maybe you can explain that as well.
I tried to make the keyboard strokes over-ride the duration toolbar settings, and to have the toolbar dynamically update as keyobard strokes were entered.
Y toggles between rests and notes.
. toggles between dots and no dots
number keys change the duration (honoring rest / note mode)
There was explicit code before I started that change and reverted to the note inserter to allow note shortcuts to insert notes while in rest mode and then switch it back after the note is inserted.
I don't know who wrote that code, but I left it in place.
So, if you could take some time and explain what you want, we can sort this out.
