After more investigation, I found that the bug was actually in the
`prin1' primitive of GNU Emacs 21.3.50, which didn't correctly print
uninterned symbols.

I submitted a small test case to Emacs developers, and Andreas Schwab
<schwab@...> fixed the C code.

With latest CVS version of GNU Emacs, your grammar now compile and
load fine :-)
