Platform: host system Intel Pentium M, debian sarge, 2.4.8-MPPE patched kernel
VMWare Workstation 4.5.2 Build 8848
client system: XP Professional SP2
pptp-linux 1.5.0-5
pptpconfig 20040809
I can connect either the linux host, or the VMWare client, but not at
the same time. Error messages from both, at the end of this message.
The VMWare XP client uses bridged networking, so it's appearing in my
home LAN with an IP number of its own. However, both the linux host
and the VMWare XP client go through my home LAN gateway, which uses
NAT.
Has anyone experienced similar problems? Does anyone know of a cure,
or at least where to search for the cause of the problem? Is it
likely that it is on my gateway machine? (ie. only possible to have one
address on the inside connecting to a particular port on a particular
host?) Is it likely that it is on the connect point at work?
Thanx!
