I have been attempting to compile the buildroot for the better part
of two days now; but I keep running into issues. I've used several
platforms, tried many fixes, but still no dice.
Fedora Core 3
The build fails with an mtd-zlib error, stating that it could not
find zlib.h in /usr/include/. Which of course it is not there, but
it is in an include directory under the buildroot directory. I was
under the impression the build process was supposed to use headers in
the build root directory, not from the host system; because they are
completely different platforms.
The mac OSX cp command does not include a -a argument, so a bunch of
copy commands fail.
Uses 2.4.x, so I have to build the depmod utility. But that build
fails with a modprobe.conf man page not found. Tried taking that line
out of the make file (its just a man page), and the depmode compile
completed. Then went on to compile the buildroot, which build
successfully. I then compiled a simple hello word program; no errors
reported. Transfered the executable to the gumstix, chmod +x the
file. Then ./test and I recieved the following error.
./test: 1: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")
I appreciate any help I can get.
