In case of closed bugs just like in the old days: find a version of
BUGS that has the bug in question open.
In case of open bugs... I'm an idiot. Not easily, unfortunately. Some
of the launchpad bugs have the old bug number in the description, but
not all. Best way is to checkout out a pre-pruning BUGS, and use that
along with lauchpad. Do we really have many comments with references
to open bugs? Yikes.
Fixing this is going to take some work -- but I think at the end of
the day all comments referring to bugs with a lauchpad bug should have
a link there in addition to the old bug number, and all lauchpad bugs
originating from BUGS should have the old bug number in the title and
be tagged with pre-launchpad. Those comments referring to bugs too old
to be in launchpad can be left alone: the bugs would not be in BUGS
list of CVS HEAD anyways, since it only contained open bugs.
(If someone wants to import historical bugs to Launchpad they are
welcome, but I don't see that as a critical task.)
