Hmm, I feel that the high quality (mip-mapping) doesn't look horribly smoo=
th. It looks
a bit smoother than the linear interpolation, however, it doesn't show ali=
asing when panning.
Maybe this depends on the graphic card drivers and settings...
I have tried on ATI 9600 and NVidia Quadro FX Go1000.

The first implementation doesn't try to tile textures. I plan to implement=
that though. Then the
cylindrical panos will look much better as well.

Yes, this is true.. I will commit a fix for this later today. I don't like=
to mess with the low level event loop, since on most platforms I don't ha=
ve access to it anyway. Now the idle function/ timer function for redrawin=
g will be stopped if the Controller class (which controls the animation of=
the panorama), indicates that the scene is static. This is the most gener=
al solution, that will work with future addons like autopanning etc. as we=
