In desperation I've just updated the format files and suddenly all is well
.. I was so sure that all updates performed this task automatically. Seems
I was mistaken. Another problem has now surfaced:
I've set up a button to call mp.exe but it doesn't perform the tasks
necessary to produce the new picture files. When I use the DOS prompt, it
works fine. I believe I have an older WinEdt/MikTeX installation running on
a laptop so I'll try to check that out tomorrow.
