It isn't clear from your post whether you are using a hub when working
with the EHCI host port.

EHCI is high speed only -- to use a low/full speed device you *must* use a hub.

Hi Victor,

How old is your Overo board??  The earlier release required the removal of
R-26 in order for the HOST USB port to function properly.

Check here to see if this might be the problem:

That is about the only thing I can think of that would stop the USB from
working properly.

Hi Gary,
		You know what, I just checked my Overo board and it has the R26  
resistor!!  No wonder the mini-a to mini-b cable I spliced up together  
didn't work!

Where can I get the instructions to remove this resistor, so I can try  
to determine if I should even attempt it!! :-) Don't wanna damage my  
Overo inadvertently else I'll be forced to go on a vacation and stop  
bothering you guys !! :-)

I just used a soldering iron with a tip wide enough to contact both sides of
R-26 from the side (and that is not a very large tip!).  Being the Overo is
built to the European RoHS directive there is no lead in the solder so it
will take a little more heat to remove (not a great deal - just a little
more than lead-based solder).

One thing to watch out for would be a solder bridge across the R-26 pads as
the spacing is not very large (at all!).  If that occurs just put a small
bit of flux on the spot and heat it with a clean soldering iron (with the
proper sized tip) and the bridge should "disappear" (actually the excess
solder adheres to the soldering iron tip).  Check your work with a
magnifying glass to make sure there is not a solder bridge.

Be careful not to overheat the board - most people make the mistake of
applying too much heat and that can cause the board to de-laminate (it is a
6-layer board I believe).

At least that is how I removed the R-26 resistor on my board (grin).

If this is too scary a prospect I think you can send the board back to
Gumstix and they will remove the R-26 resistor.

I am not using the USB hub when I'm connecting it to the host port.

I have checked my GPS USB port and it's full speed (OHCI). 
Is there any posibility to connect this to the host port? checking the OMAP
specification said that it's High/Full/Low Speed.
