Just tried a new 1.8.005 install and it defaults to ja_purity template.
I can switch to idots without problem.
What I found is, that a new 1.8.005 does not create a usable anonymous
user, that is fixed now in SVN. Allready installed new 1.8.005 can fix
it by setting a new password in Admin >> Manage accounts *AND* SiteMgr

Nothing for me, see above.

Default install uses a template path relative to EGroupware install
directory, thought that's working for me too.
