S.M.A.R.T. Monitoring Tools

I'm looking for a dock that handles 3.5" sata drives with a USB 3.0 
connection to a Linux box. I need one that works with Linux 
smartmontools. The ads rarely tell you what chipset is used in the dock.

Is there one (not too expensive) that works with smartctl? I'll be 
testing various drives so I 'm looking for one of the open air docks.

I can't find anyone that sells it. I'm guessing it isn't a current model. It's hard to find any Sharkoon docks for sale. The specs on these docks never say what usb bridge they are using, and the manufacturer tech support never knows. I did notice one that says "Support UAS Attached SCSI Protocol Specification Revision 1.0". Does that buy anything?

The only thing close I can find on the list are Sharkoon docks, and the only one thats available in the US is Sharkoon SATA QUICKPORT XT/XT USB3.0 which is not on the list. The spec sheets tell you nothing other than its supported on windows and mac. Sharkoon support never replies to my questions. Anyone know if this would work with smartmontools on Linux?
