Using Fedora Core 1 the file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlan0
has the configuration for the wlan0 device. You might need to put your
essid and key in this file (if its the same for debian) and set the ONBOOT
to yes and the BOOTPROTO to dhcp?
The try an ifup wlan0 and see if it works.

Subject: [Ndiswrapper-general] Linksys Pcmcia WPC54G card problem +
I'm trying to use the ndiswrapper with my Linksys WPC54g card.
I'm using a debian with the 2.4.24 kernel.
I had no problems to install the ndiswrapper with "install.sh" but
when I reboot, I use iwconfig to see if the wlan0 interface is up
lo no wireless interface
The wlan0 interface is not up. Why is the driver not auto loaded ?
Then to load the driver I use :
ndiswrapper version 0.4 loaded
wlan0: ndiswrapper ethernet device XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
I configure the key and the essid
When I use iwconfig to see the settings, it writes :
lo no wirelles interface
Warning : Device wlan0 has been compiled with version 16
of Wireless Extension, while we are using version 12.
Some things may be broken...
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"xxxxx"

level:-10 dBm Noise level:-256 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0
Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid
misc:307 Missed beacon:0
The problem is that the driver is not autoloaded and the key and the essid
What can I do to have the settings autoloaded with the driver ?
