Very small point, you might want to review the
JkMount /* testworker
This will cause all URL requests to be routed through the mod_jk ajp13
protocol leaving apache to perform only the SSL function. If there are
any static files that could be served directly by Apache they will still
go through Tomcat. In most cases it wont matter but if you have a high
load it will limit scalability and performance.
I'm not 100% certain what DSpace actually needs JkMounted, it might just
be all jsp's as in your second JkMount /*.jsp testworker

We just finished installing DSpace using mod_jk. Below is our
configuration. If you need more details, please let me know.
the workers.properties file should look like this
LoadModule jk_module libexec/mod_jk.so #in the loading
#at the bottom of the file
JkWorkersFile /path (we put it under apache)/workers.properties
SSLCertificateFile /path to the certificate/cert.cer
SSLCertificateKeyFile /path to the key/secureprivate.key
Alias / "/path to tomcat/webapps/dspace"
<Directory "/path to tomcat/webapps/dspace">
JkMount /* testworker
JkMount /*.jsp testworker
deny from all
we used the original file - no changes (you can delete 8080 connection
We just finished, and our instalation needs polishing but it works. If
you don't use ssl, put all the jk commands (Alias, JkMount, Directory,
and Location) outside the <IfDefine SSL> <VirtualHost _default_:443>
