That driver is in FreeBSD 9.0 and hasn't been backported to FreeBSD 8
yet, I'm attempting to determine if that's straightforward or not.
The FreeNAS commit you are looking at is for the legacy FreeNAS 0.7,
before they forked they switched the base system to FreeBSD 9.0
If the backport is straightforward I can give you a patch, building
FreeNAS is easy, it requires a FreeBSD 8.2 or greater machine running
the amd64 arch.
Another option would be to just checkout the FreeBSD 9.0 sources on an
8.2 machine, copy over sys/dev/qxlgb to the source tree on the 8.2
machine and see if the module builds. If the module builds copy it to
the FreeNAS box and add if_qlxgb_load="YES" to loader.conf
