I have no plans to work on tag folding, but if the original author can
assign copyright, it could be made part of Emacs in the future.
If there is a popular existing folding mode that takes some sort of
function for determining the boundaries of things to fold, it would be
easy to adapt to use tags.
The contributed semantic-tag-folding mode is very nice, and I would be
hard pressed to reproduce it.
Anyway, the CEDET in bzr is more up to date than the one in Emacs, so it
is better to use that if you need up to date features, or features in
the CEDET contrib repository.
