Thank you for subscribing to the Rodin Handbook Mailinglist. I just
want to give you a quick overview on how we're going to proceed from here.
We're going to write the handbook in four iterations, each iteration
taking 8 weeks (6 weeks writing, 2 weeks review). We're currently
setting up our infrastructure. The first iteration will start next
week, on June 13. We broke the work down into work packages that are
We already gathered some feedback on the DoW in Nice, feel free to
provide more. In particular, if you find the omission of anything
important, please let us know.
You may have seen on the Wiki that we're going to manage the handbook as
Latex in Subversion. We are using a tool called plastex to generate
HTML and Eclipse Help. We also created some scripts that do the work.
Both, the scripts and some Latex, are already checked into Subversion,
feel free to check it out (and don't pay too much attention to the
content at this point):
We will incorporate this in our Jenkins Continuous Integration system
shortly, allowing you to browse the latest generated artifacts (HTML,
PDF, Eclipse Help) without having to install anything.
For the time being, we put an example of the generated content online.
This is obviously not finished yet, but will give you an idea on where
this is heading:
That's it for now. We'll post the WP1-1 and WP1-2 deliverables in two
weeks or so, and may solicit feedback via this list. In the meantime,
feel free to discuss anything of relevance on this mailing list.
