Does not have anybody an idea? How could I debug this somehow?

My best theory is that you use some 1.3 version of munin where this was 
broken.  What version of munin-update and munin-limits do you have?

What plugins are having this problem?  What version of munin are
you running on the master and on the node?

I'm so sorry, you are right. My mail did not contain all the proper 
information.

This is an Ubuntu 10.04 with munin 1.4.4-1ubuntu1 .

And in facts, the installation was originally on an Debian 5 with 
1.2.6-10~lenny2 . I dumped and restored the rrd files.

The two services with the problem: Lighttpd accesses and open files .

Using a munin master on ubuntu 10.10:

munin:
   Installed: 1.4.5-1ubuntu2
   Candidate: 1.4.5-1ubuntu2
   Version table:

And a munin-node on 10.04:

munin-node:

On the master I've set the warning and critical thresholds for the load
plugin:

[host.group]
         use_node_name yes
         address <address>
         load.warning 10
         load.critical 20

Ran munin update, then ran munin limits with debug. When it comes to
load, munin-limits checks completely the wrong rrd path:

[DEBUG] processing service: vdbeats.manc.iws-hosting.co.uk
[DEBUG] processing critical: load -> : 20
[DEBUG] processing warning: load -> : 10
[DEBUG] processing unknown_limit: load -> 3
[DEBUG] processing field:
manc.iws-hosting.co.uk::vdbeats.manc.iws-hosting.co.uk::load
[WARNING] Could not fetch data from
/var/lib/munin/group-host.group-load-g.rrd(AVERAGE): No such file or
directory

2 things wrong with that path - firstly, group-host is hyphen delimited,
when that should be a directory delimiter (group/host.group-load-g.rrd),
and secondly, the real rrd has another 'load' on the end of the filename
(host.group-load-load-g.rrd). Other plugins (like df), work fine.

I cant for the life of my figure out why (weak perl foo) - can anyone help?
