Merry Christmas.

    In the St.Nic's sack there was a Nikon CoolPix P6000.  Nice camera. 
Shame about the new RAW (WIC) format. Shame that I don't have Windows...

I have tried to use gphoto to download images from it, but to no avail.
The images were shot in JPG. I cannot see the point of use the RAW
format because no one can use it other than those on Windows with the
right Codec and if allowed to do so by Micrsoft.  (Comment here:
http://heim.ifi.uio.no/~gisle/blog/?p=103 ).

Thus, this Email is a bag of two questions.


If someone knows how to pull the RAW images of the camera in Linux then
I would be very happy to know.

 I have an old version of gphoto. Is there a respoitority for gphoto2
and libgphoto2 that I could use?  I don' fancy awaiting the Ubuntu release?

Downloading RAW images ... not sure if it works and how. If they are listed with gphoto2 -L they likely can be downloaded. Even older libgphoto2 versions have a PTP Generic driver, which will work for the Nikon Coolpix P6000. (You can also try Mass Storage to just get the files off the camera). If you have the USB ids in PTP mode, please report them to us. (lsusb or lsusb -v with the camera ttached). Ciao, Marcus
