Hi to Everyone,
I am using audacity 1.2.4 under Debian Linux, and I wonder wether
dithering would improve the playback sound quality of the CD I burn.
I have digitized a few vinyl records with a M-Audio 2496 PCI card, at
96000 Hz and 32 bits float. Prior to burning audio CD, I have to
downgrade/downsample to 44100 Hz and 16 bits. Audacity proposes
dithering facilities. The default values are no dithering in real time
playback, and "triangle" dithering for export (High Quality dither).
Other options are "rectangle" and "shaped". What setting would be best
for classical music ?
