Hi, Andrew, Mart and all.
Playing often with SuperCars and Hymie-sc robots, I can't do it
on the Long Day track : at race load time, Torcs-NG exits (code 1).
After some quick investigations, it appears the Hymie-sc robot
is doing that on some kind of assert ; here the console output
from a gdb session :

Quite sure this is not relevant, but before that, when loading the track,
Torcs-NG complains about not finding shadow2.rgb file :
