Hi All,
I recently bought a wireless headset (Logitech ClearChat Wireless PC),
which works great with Qtel... but there's one glitch. If you're not
careful muting the microphone, instead of supplying a 0v signal, it
supplies a DC offset.
When Qtel hears this DC offset, erroneously thinks there's a signal
present, and naively tries to transmit it. This accidentally caused
some grief for a few people on the VK3JED/AUSSIE conferences today.
Attached, is a patch to address this. It doesn't change the signal
being transmitted to the remote side, just the calculations to the VOX.
I've also done some optimisations to the envelope calculations.
Regards,
